The third king of the United Monarchy a David was the second king of the United Kingdom of Israel according to the Old Testament. He is depicted as a righteous king, although not without fault, as well as an acclaimed warrior, musician and poet, traditionally credited for composing many of the psalms contained in the Book of Psalms. After he anointed king over Israel and Judah, David conquers the Jebusite fortress of Jerusalem, and makes it his capital. And the final king before the northern Kingdom of Israel and the southern Kingdom of Judah split; Was the builder of the First Temple in Jerusalem. Jesus mentions Solomon twice, the first reference is the famous simile of Matthew 6:28-29 and Luke 12:27, in which Jesus compares the lilies of the field with "Solomon in his glory". In the second reference Jesus alludes to the Queen of Sheba's visit to the court of Solomon.
